As a result of the cooperation agreement signed in 1993, CERGE hosts a majority of its events in conjunction with the Economics Institute. These get-togethers are intended not only for CERGE students and CERGE and EI faculty members but for the public as a whole. As a result the halls of the CERGE building are constantly buzzing with out-of-classroom activity. Whether they be twice-weekly seminars, occasional conferences, or once-a-year workshops, the goals of these "meetings of the minds" is the same: to discuss topical problems in the field of economics and to disseminate knowledge gained through research to as wide an audience as possible.
