The presentation will be held offline in Room 402 and given by Stefanos Tyros, a postdoc at the Digital Reskilling Lab under Raffaella Sadun at Harvard Business School. He works on the interaction between labor force skills and digital, AI, and green technologies.

Title: "Remote by design: Organizational structure, technology, and productivity"

Abstract:
This paper investigates the internal organization and spatial dynamics of fully remote firms. We do this by leveraging novel microdata on workers, managers, project, and tasks from a software services firm operating across the Americas. We investigate how such a firm hires across space, how the reduced team homogeneity due to the more heterogeneous workers affect productivity, and how workers are allocated across projects and tasks.
