CERGE-EI Festival: Discover Careers in Economic Research

The CERGE-EI Festival is a community event that brings together faculty, alumni, and students to show prospective students from diverse backgrounds what an education in economics can empower us to achieve. Economic research is not just about theory and models — it’s a powerful toolkit for understanding human behavior, shaping public policy, improving markets, and addressing complex global challenges.

SAVE THE DATE: The next CERGE-EI Festival will take place on Friday, December 4, 2026 (prospective students), and Saturday, December 5, 2026 (CERGE-EI students and alumni).

The CERGE-EI Festival 2026 will open with a keynote address by Pavel Dvořák, CERGE-EI alumnus and Principal Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

December 4 – Discover CERGE-EI invites prospective students to explore the world of economics through engaging faculty talks, hands-on workshops, and career roundtables with alumni working in academia, public policy, international organizations, and the private sector. Participants will also learn about CERGE-EI's study programmes and admissions process, with plenty of opportunities to meet students and faculty in an informal setting.

December 5 – Paths We Take: Life After CERGE-EI brings current students and alumni together to explore career opportunities and the changing world of work. Highlights include The Future of Work forum, examining how technology, demographic shifts, and evolving skill requirements are reshaping careers, followed by small-group mentoring sessions with CERGE-EI alumni.
